Simba, Yanga tie fetches 43.8m/-

The Vodacom Premier League, return leg match between archrivals Simba and Yanga grossed 43.8m/-. Simba treasurer Almas Chano said yesterday that the amount was fetched from 8,240 fans that paid to watch the game staged at Dar es Salaam`s National Stadium on Sunday.

He said 105 people paid to watch the match at VIP, 1,726 sat at the main stand while 1, 719 and 5,690 paid for green and terraces stands, respectively.

Chano said each club was given 10.2m/- in the last match of the 14-teams. They forced a barren draw.

Yanga who are Mainland champions will represent Tanzania in the African Champions League next year while Prisons will go for Confederation Cup.

Ashanti United, Manyema, Pan African and Coastal Union of Tanga have been relegated.
