Mkuchika to grace Stars, Cranes match

The Minister for Information, Culture and Sports, George Mkuchika, will be the quest of honour in the match between Taifa Stars and Uganda Cranes set for Saturday at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza.

A source within Stars said yesterday that the minister had already confirmed to attend the Africa Cup of Nations meant for domestic players.

The source said that both teams would leave for Mwanza tomorrow ready for the first leg match.

The return leg will be played between May 16 and 18 in Kampala, Uganda.

The source further said officials of the match would arrive in the country tomorrow.

In another development, players who were called by coach Marcio Maximo to form Taifa Stars have already reported in the residential camp.

They are Farouk Ramadhani, Shabani Dihule, Fred Mbuna,
Kelvin Yondan, Nadir Haroub, Salum Sued, Juma JAbu, Amir Maftah, Stephano Mwasyika, Henry Joseph, Shabani Nditi and Athumani Iddi.

Others are Godfrey Bonny, Ulimboka Mwakingwe, Uhuru Suleiman, Abdi Kassim, Mrisho Ngassa, Emmanuel Gabriel, Jerry Tegete, Kigi Makasi, Ivo Mapunda and Shadrack Nsajigwa.
