Seven players have been picked to prepare for a judo international championship to be held in Portugal from July 7-11.

Judo Association of Tanzania (Jata) Secretary-General Shaaban Kashinde said yesterday that the players would start training at Kisutu in Dar es Salaam under two coaches - Ahmed Riad and Mizouch Yoshiyuk.

Kashinde named them as Zaid Hamis, Yusuph Omary, Juma Yusuph Ngongoro and Focus Mkude.

Others are Boniface John Mwakipesile, Rashid Gaudence and Abuu Seleman.

He said the players would use the Portugal meet to prepare for the world championship set for later this year.
