Tanzanians Janeth John and Sarah Ramadhani finished fifth and sixth respectively in the African Athletics Championships` 10,000m here over the weekend.

The two were among four Tanzanians who turned up for the continental championships.

Janeth clocked 35:32.60 while Sarah used 36:06.03 in the race which was dominated by hosts Ethiopians.

Janeth said after the race that she was very happy with the result because that was not her race.

``I decided to run in 10,000m after failing to catch up with 5,000m which was my race,`` she said.

Tanzania contingent missed some of the races after arriving late.

The runner accused Athletics Tanzania (AT) for her poor performance.

``I should have performed well if AT could have taken us here earlier enough to catch up with the races which we registered for,`` she added.

Ethiopian Tirunesh Dibaba won the race after running for 32:49.08 followed by her country-mates Ejegayehu Dibaba (32:50.36) and Ayalew Wude (32:55.17).
