Dar to host inter-cities basketball on June 24

Seven egions have so far confirmed to compete in the East and Central Africa Inter-Cities Basketball Championship to be hosted in Dar es Salaam from June 24-28 at Indoor Stadium.

The president of the regional body, Simon Msofe, yesterday named Tanzania cities which had so far confirmed to compete in the tourney as Mwanza, Arusha and Dar es Salaam.

Others are Kampala (Uganda), Nairobi, Mombasa (Kenya) and Kigali (Rwanda).

Msofe said if more teams would confirm their participation, other matches would be played at Tanzania Cigarettes Company popular as TCC Chang`ombe.

He said local teams had already started their preparations.

The event was staged in Kampala, Uganda last year where Nairobi won men`s title while Dar es Salaam`s Dream Team won women`s title.
