Emilian Patrick to train in Cuba

Emilian Patrick will train in Cuba for two months to prepare for the Olympic Games set for August in Beijing, China.

The vice president of the Boxing Federation of Tanzania (BFT), Chris Mutta, said yesterday that the Tanzania Olympic Committee (TOC) had agreed to sponsor him a return air ticket.

He said the Tanzanian boxers would also compete in a special bouts which would attract Olympic boxers in Taipei, China from May 23 to June 1.

The bantam weight Patrick is the only boxer who has qualified for the China event.

Six athletes and two swimmers have also qualified for the games.
