Bukoba trader charged with impersonating before minister Nchimbi as son of a bishop

Bukoba-based trader Yusuph Juma (28) appeared before Principal District Magistrate Afumwisye Kibona of Ilala District Court on Wednesday where he was charged with impersonating himself as a son of a bishop.
Assistant Inspector of Police Daniel Buma told the court on Wednesday that Juma committed the offence on May 2, this year at the office of the Ministry of Defence and National Service in Dar es Salaam.
It was further alleged that on the material day, the accused, with intent to defraud, falsely introduced himself to the Deputy Minister for Defence and National Service, Emmanuel Nchimbi, as the grandson of Dodoma cleric of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT), Bishop Mwamasika.
Juma pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded in custody for lack of surety. The case was adjourned to May 20, this year.
Meanwhile in Kariakoo Primary Court, Faruku Ahmed (42), a resident of Kariakoo, Kibambawe Street was charged before Magistrate Mwajuma Diwani with the possession of narcotic drugs on the same day.
Court clerk Gerald Kishiwa alleged that the accused committed the offence on May 5, this year at Jangwani Street in Ilala Municipality.
It was alleged that on the material day, police detective Constable Geofrey found the accused in possession of marijuana.
Ahmed pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded in custody for lack of surety until May 19, this year when the case comes up for another mention.
In yet another incident, Ahmad Juma (20), who lives in Buguruni Ghana area, appeared in the same court before District Magistrate Mwanaisha Chande where he was charged with causing grievous harm to another person.
Assistant Inspector of police Musa Gumbo alleged that, the accused committed the offence on May 1, this year at Buguruni Ghana area in Ilala Municipality.
