Dar to field four in regional tourney

Hosts Dar es Salaam will be represented by four teams in the East and Central Africa Inter-Cities Basketball Championship to be held from June 24- 28 at Indoor Stadium and TCC Chang`ombe.
One of the Dar es Salaam coaches Manase Zablon said yesterday that there would be two men`s teams and two women`s teams.
He said two teams - men and women - had been already named and it would be called Kilimanjaro One.
``The name of the other teams will be known later,`` he said.
Tanzania One will start training today at Zanaki under Manase.
Players who form men\'s teams are George Tarimo, Filbert Matungi, Gilbert Batungi, Mohamed Ally and Edmund Pastory.
Others are Francis Mlewa, Abdallah Ramadhani, Alex John, Tumsifu Apolo, Francis Kisiga, Lucas Nyaga, Alphonce Kisoky, Francis Agustino and Juma Kisoky.
Some of the women\'s players are Khadija Kalambo, Amina Ahmed, Faraji Malachi and Penina Igwe.``Every team will be formed by 17 players before being reduced to 12,`` Manase said.
Other teams which have so far confirmed are Mwanza, Arusha, Nairobi, Mombasa, Kampala, Addis Ababa and Kigali.
