Cranes coach Laszlo Csaba`s request to the Fufa competitions committee to halt the ongoing National Super League to allow the team enough training ahead of their return leg tie against Tanzania has been granted, according to the monitor.
Uganda lost the first leg of the African Nations Championship tie 0-2.
Federation publicist Rogers Mulindwa told the press yesterday over the weekend that all league games scheduled between May 12-17 have been postponed.
``We want to respond to all the conditions our coach sets, so that at the end of the day we are not to blame. We badly need to win the return leg and that is why we have decided that all players join residential training without being interrupted by league fixtures,`` Mulindwa said.
Marcio Maximo\'s Taifa Stars are to face the Cranes on May 17 at Nakivubo Stadium. Yesterday`s scheduled league fixture between Express and Boroboro was also cancelled.
The African Nations Championship was inaugurated this year by the Confederation of African Football (Caf) to give locally based players a forum to showcase their talent.
The inaugural finals of the competition will take place in Ivory Coast next year.
The Cranes have invited four players to boost them.
Express FC goalkeeper Abel Dhaira, KCC left back Sam Ssenoga, KCC striker Robert Sentongo and Francis Jjemba have been summoned to join the Cranes team that was expected to start training yesterday.
Ssenoga is likely to take Lawrence Ssegawa\'s place as he has accumulated two yellow cards.
