By Valentine Oforo

Dar es Salaam Regional Commissioner Abbas Kandoro has expressed his disappointment on disqualification of Temeke in the on going Taifa Cup soccer championship at the national stadium in the city.

He said yesterday he was very upset when he heard that Temeke were stripped off a win for fielding illegible players in their match against Mbeya.

Temeke won 5-4 in the match staged played at Dar es Salaam`s National Stadium but Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) competition committee reversed the results on the grounds that Temeke fielded two illegible players, Sammy Kessy and Rashid Gumbo.

``I am disappointed with their exit because they were one of three teams in my region which I believed one of them could win the title,`` he said.

He urged Temeke Football Association (TEFA) to forget the past and concentrate on the preparation of the next tournament.

Tefa recently said that they would go to the court to stop the tournament after TFF dismissed their appeal.
``Tefa should accept the defeat. Going to the court will distort the meaning of this tournament.

What they should do is to support Kinondoni and Ilala which have remained in the race so that one of them win the title,`` Kandoro said.
