He said apart from sponsoring the students pursue studies at the mentioned schools, the Society is also providing full meals, fruits and refreshments to about 200 disabled pupils at the Uhuru Mchanganyiko Primary School daily.
SSST is the main sponsor and supporter of this school as per Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the Ilala Municipal Director and the SSST since 1992, the Chairman elaborated.
He said the Society has also distributed almost 250 mosquito nets to disabled children, poor people and orphans in Dar es Salaam and Coast regions this year alone.
He said the SAI-NET Project is aimed at fighting malaria epidemic among the rural poor who cannot afford to buy mosquito nets.
According to him, those who have already benefited from the SAI-NET project include; 80 mentally impaired pupils at Mtoni Special School for the Mentally Handicapped in Temeke District, 90 blind and 13 deaf-blind pupils at Uhuru Mchanganyiko Primary School in Ilala District.
The SSST has also donated 25 wheelchairs to disabled adults.
He said members of the Society would continue to offer humanitarian assistance to the needy people in the country based on the philosophy of Love to All, Serve All; Help Ever and Hurt Never and Hands that serve are holier than the lips that pray.
