The national female soccer team training camp is facing a series of hitches likely to threaten its performance.

The Kinondoni Football Association (KIFA) Secretary General, Frank Mchaki has told The Guardian on Sunday that the situation has been brought about by lack of support from the government and TTF itself.

He acknowledged that the media has contributed a great deal to promote women`s soccer in the country but more efforts were needed to enable it superb and participate in major local and international matches.

However, he insisted that TFF should not be blamed for failing to support the team because it has other teams to cater for.

TFF Information Officer Florian Kaijage explained that the majority of sponsors are usually ready to support teams with big names like Simba, Yanga or Taifa Stars.

But when it comes to small teams they become lukewarm, he added. ``We do receive inquiries from sponsors intending to support big teams but their preference quite often is to support big teams,`` Kaijage lamented.
