Form One student Nicholaus Issa, whose plight featured recently in this paper, is still in dire need of 35,000/- to cover for his school fees and uniforms.
His colleague, also in Form I at Halisi Secondary School, Majohe in Ilala municipality, Zuberi Ibrahim (18), who lives in a mosque in Dar es Salaam while pursuing his education, needs 75,000/- for the same cause.
Nicholaus who a number of good Samaritans pledged to help, still sleeps on the streets at Kidongo Chekundu in Dar es Salaam.
His colleagues have sworn to contribute to pay for his education but money is not as forthcoming as they would wish.``Both students are doing well academically,`` said Headmistress Hadija Rwegerera adding however that they still needed help.
``Some good Samaritans have promised to come to the aid of Nicholaus, Zuberi and Fatuma Omari,`` she added, saying the help will make life slightly easier for them.
``I am supposed to have at least two pairs of uniforms but I have afforded only one, making it difficult to maintain cleanliness as required by the school guidelines,`` said Nicholaus this week when this newspaper paid a visit at the school.
He needs at least 300/- for his bus fare each day without meals while Zuberi, who hails from Kigoma, cannot meet school expenses, let alone his meals and accommodation.
``I desperately need assistance because I don`t have shelter. I sleep in Mosques during the nights. Currently I spend the night at at Masjid Rahman at Jangwani area in Kariakoo.
All I wear has been extended to me by the school as a credit. I am supposed to pay back 75,000/- at the end of the year,`` said Zuberi.
