Students of Ndanda Secondary School have been sent on emergency leave due to shortage of food at the school. A group of Form V students affected by the problem are taking tuition in Dar es Salaam fearing time is running out on them.

``For about a month now we have been stranded here, as there is no word from the school administration about the situation,`` one of them told The Guardian on Sunday yesterday, adding: ``We are paying 7,000/- tuition fees per topic. It is very expensive. We need to go back to school.``

Responding by phone the Second Mistress of the school, Gerold Makota, said yesterday that the food had been solved and that all the students were required to report back to school immediately.

``We shall also discuss the issue of the coming holidays expected next month for Form V students so that they may compensate for the lost time,`` said Makota.
