By Dunstan Bahai in Butiama, Musoma

CCM party central committee members, working behind closed doors, yesterday worked extra time to hammer out the agenda for the National Executive Committee meeting, taking place in Musoma.

The NEC meeting being held at the birthplace of the Father of the Nation, the later Mwalimu Nyerere, will among other political issues, discuss the Muafaka talks between the party and the opposition CUF.

Newsmen eager to find out details of the CC meeting last evening converged on the Publicity Secretary of the party, John Chiligati, as he came out of the Central Committee session, but were taken aback as the CCM Secretary General, Yusuf Makamba, whisked him away.

``Time is not yet ripe for any stament. We will give you details when we are ready,`` the party stalwart told the local and foreign journalists, who are covering the meeting.

Meanwhile, Staff Reporter Philemon Lusekelo reports that the Vice President Dr. Ali Mohammed Shein was yesterday forced to leave the CC meeting after receiving information that his mother had died in Zanzibar.

The meeting was adjourned for a while following the information.
On another development, more than 300m/- were raised on Friday evening, for the construction of Mara Regional CCM offices.
President Kikwete chaired the fundraising ceremony that was held at the Musoma Municipality.
