TCCIA President, Peter Chisawilo declared Adamjee as winner of the post after 200 members casted their ballots I his favour during an annual general meeting for the region.
Chisawilo also declared Anne Maridadi winner of the Vice Chairperson responsible for trade while Karim Mtambo also occupies the same position but will focus on agriculture. The VC position for industry remains vacant after missing a candidate.
During the elections, Rehema Ngatanda and Atiki Mohamed were elected to executive committee. Frank Nzoo was elected Treasurer while Mohamed Kiaratu was elected regional representative for TCCIA annual general meeting.
Speaking after his election, Adamjee extended his appreciation to members who voted for him and called for unity.
"We shall make sure that we bring changes for the better of our region which has many resources including fertile agriculture land that is important to develop the region," the former Kawe constituency lawmaker, said.
The TCCIA President congratulated the new leaders and urged them to work closely with authorities to address hurdles facing business people in the region so that they can compete with peers from East Africa Community.
