Speaking in Dar es Salaam yesterday, Airtel Tanzania Limited’s Director of Marketing, Isack Nchunda said the divided will be distributed to all Airtel Money agents and customers who have been using the service through their mobile money wallets.
“Airtel Money is now paying dividends on quarterly basis. Airtel Money customers and agents will have the freedom to decide how to spend the money,” said Nchunda while revealing that it’s the sixth consecutive quarter that the company is sharing profits with subscribers.
“Airtel has been giving back dividends to all Airtel Money customers and agents since 2015. Airtel gives back to Airtel Money customers and agents depending on the amount of balance one has on their account on daily basis,” Nchunda noted. So far, the mobile phone services company has shared 17bn/- in profits since 2015.
“On top of that we all know that wrong transactions have been one of the long challenges affecting our Airtel Money customers, we have now enabled our customers to be able to reverse an Airtel Money transaction sent to a wrong number,” the Director of Marketing pointed out.
Seconding his boss, Airtel Money Manager, Ibrahim Malando said starting today every customer and agent will receive dividends through their mobile phone wallet/ accounts which they can cash it out, pay various bills and services such as internet bundle and the like.
“Airtel Money agents will also receive their interests through their Airtel Money accounts as usual and I therefore call on them to continue offering the best service to our customers countrywide in the coming quarter to continue enjoying their share quarterly,” Malando added.
