CBA Bank lures contractors with its products

CONTRACTORS have been urged to seek various banking services from CBA Bank Tanzania Limited which has almost everything need- ed to facilitate their work.

CBA Bank Tanzania acting CEO, Ju- lius Konyani said many contractors need banking services which his bank provides but very few turn up to demand them. “CBA sponsored

this Contractors Day because it offers vari- ous products which supports contractors and the construction industry at large,” Konyani said. He added that existence of huge construction companies, manufactur- ing and trading firms in Dar es Salaam and throughout the country presents a suitable niche for CBA to tap in and make tangible business from it.

Konyani noted that the construction in- dustry is one of the fastest growing in the country and as a development focused

bank, CBA believes it has a lot to offer to the industry especially in investing in infra- structure.

“The bank has designed teller made prod- ucts to suit the local environment for our contractors such as guarantees, letters of credit which assist with import and export business,” he explained.

Speaking on the same occasion, Perma- nent Secretary at Ministry of Works, Trans- port and Communication, Engineer Joseph Nyamhagana said the Contractors Day is

an important event as it brings together all stakeholders to exchange ideas, experience and information relating to the industry.

“The construction industry contributes to development of the industrial economy sig- nificantly in line with President John Magu- fuli’s ambition to turn our economy into a semi industrial one,” Eng Nyamhanga said.

The PS emphasised that, it’s high time that every Tanzanians work hard together in order to realise the industrialisation agenda.
