Local firm wins World Travel Awards

A local firm has won the 2016 best travel agency in the country thanks to organisers of the prize, World Travel Awards.
Travelstart Tanzania, was named this year’s winner at a ceremony held in Zanzibar last weekend.

Each year World Travel Award covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to recognise and celebrate individual and collective successes within each geographical region.

The award, which is judged by an international jury of hospitality industry experts and peers, was presented to Travelstart which is one of the country’s leading online travel agency.

Travelstart Tanzania Managing Director Abbas Rajani said the award is an honour that encourages them to do more.
“We are delighted to have been recognised by the World Travel Awards panel of experts, a special thank you to all the voters who have made it possible for us to win the award,” Rajani said.

He pointed out that Travelstart is committed to providing consumers lower fares as compared to others in the market.
“Being a young and progressive company, Travelstart is indeed committed to provide affordable and excellent services,” he noted.

Rajan also said that Travelstart is committed to transforming the travel booking industry by tackling the complexities that face travellers and suppliers in the industry.

“Travelstart addresses complexities in the African travel market by directly accessing local supply, solving language and currency problems as well as the diverse plethora of payment methods” the CEO stressed.

In addition to Travelstart Tanzania's award for being the leading travel agency in the country; the Travelstart Group, which has offices in Cape Town, Dubai, Istanbul, Lagos, Cairo and Dar es Salaam, walked away with 'Africa's Leading Online Travel Agency' at the 2016 World Travel Awards.

World Travel Awards were launched in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry.
