Milvik vends ‘Mother and Child’ hospitalization insurance

OVER 150,000 people across the country have benefited from ‘Bima Mkononi,’ an insurance service that focuses on enhancing family coverage.

Customers can get covered in case they are hospitalised or if they have accidents or at the time of death.

Eliasha Tengere, head of Operations and Sales at Milvik Company made these observations yesterday at the launch of the new insurance service dubbed ‘Bima Mkononi Kulazwa na Mtoto,’ literally ‘handy insurance for admission (of mother) and child.’

In 2018 the company paid over 1,800 claims totaling over Sh350m and continues to pay more claims every month in various places in the country.

The service is provided by the Milvik Company based in Dar es Salaam, in partnership with Tigo Pesa and kindred firms like Resolution Insurance and Mo Assurance.

“Our purpose is to educate Tanzanians about insurance in order to protect the future of their families,”Tengere explained.

“We have managed to come up with this service because the future is unpredictable. No one knows what can happen and normally we lack the saving culture,” he elaborated.

He urged the pubic to take out insurance policies like this one in order to protect the future of their family and have peace of mind.

The policy also guarantees support in times of difficulty as it has hospital, accidents or death insurance for as little as Sh1500 paid out periodically, he said.

The insurance facility covers a family of five children and one can get accident compensation of up to Sh900,000 through the BimaMkononi facility.
