NBC’s Head of Small and Medium size Enterprises (SMEs) Evance Luhimbo said in Geita town where an inaugural Mining Technology Exhibition is underway this week that the Dar es Salaam based bank is ready to see the small miners graduate into mining firms.

Luhimbo said artisanal miners and mining companies are an important component of  the bank’s clientele because it has been supporting them for many years noting that NBC’s focus is on financing the whole value chain to ensure rapid growth of the industry.

“NBC Club is a special product that empowers small and medium size traders and miners to acquire management skills, marketing and proper running of firms,” he added.

Speaking  while launching the exhibition which the bank is sponsoring, NBC Managing Director, Theobald Sabi and the bank’s  Corporate Affairs Manager, Wliliam Kalaghe reaffirmed NBC’s commitment to finance mining activities.

“At NBC, we value the whole mining industry value chain starting small scale miners to traders and mineral processors,” Sabi said while emphasising that NBC will continue working with likeminded institutions such as Tanzania Trade Development Authority to foster mining industry growth.

“NBC is a Tanzanian bank which is managed by Tanzanians hence I take this opportunity to inform the public that the bank has also joined  the government’s electronic payment system known as GePG, so that all government bills and fees can be paid through NBC, “ he added.

The grand exhibition which climaxes next Sunday was officially launched by Deputy Minister for Minerals, Stanslaus Nyongo while Gita and Kagera Regional Commissioners, Engineer Gabriel Robert and Brigadier General (rtd) Marko Gaguti attended the ceremony.
