Tanzania Trade Development Authority (Tantrade) acting Director General, Edwin Rutegaruka said during a prize giving ceremony for grand Mlimani City Mall raffle draw, that it is important that such high end market malls sell the public genuine products.
“I want to see all products that are sold here having TBS and TFDA marks so as to ensure that consumers are getting quality products certified by relevant authorities,” Rutegaruka said.
He urged shop owners at the mall to ensure that special shelves are dedicated to locally made products so as to stimulate local industries.
“We are now moving to an industrial state, therefore we are supposed to ensure that local products are sold widely to stimulate industrialization,” the TanTrade DG pointed out.
Mall’s General Manager, Pastory Mrosso said the raffle was organized to show to consumers after backing them for the entire 2016.
Mrosso also said that the management of Mlimani City Mall in collaboration with its tenants organized the competition during the end of year festive season when shopping is high.
