TBL scooped the honour after observing human resource management standards observed and measured by the Dutch organisation.
The award was handled over late last week in Dar es Salaam at a ceremony held at the Ilala plant that was attended by the company’s top management and some employees.
The winners in various categories were picked and announced in October in Johannesburg after completion of a global survey. The Top Employers Institute’s annual international research seeks to recognise leading employers around the world.
Winners are employers who provide excellent working conditions as well as nurture and develop talent throughout all levels of the organisation. Their other main attribute is to continuously optimise employment practices.
“The Top Employers Institute globally certifies excellence in the conditions that employers create for their people. It has just announced the results of this year’s research into the employee conditions of significant employers in Africa.
Tanzania Breweries Limited is one of the select organisations to achieve the Top Employers Tanzania 2017 certification and is delighted to be officially recognised as a leading employer,” TBL said in a statement.
“Crucial to the Top Employers process is that participating companies must complete a stringent research process and meet the required high standard in order to achieve the certification.
To further reinforce the validity of the process, all answers were independently audited, meaning this research has verified Tanzania Breweries Limited’s outstanding employee conditions and earned them a coveted spot among a choice group of certified Top Employers,” it added.
Speaking at the award handing over even, the head of Top Employers Institute in Africa, Billy Elliot, said TBL was recognised as one of the top new entry organisations, whose score was higher than the average for African countries in having the best employee conditions
“Being certified as a Top Employer enables TBL to stand out as employer of choice and the accolade validates the recognition of TBL Group’s status by the Association of Tanzania Employers (ATE) as one of the best employers in Tanzania,” the company’s Human Resources Director, David Magese. TBL won the 2015 ATE Employer of the Year Award.
