Tigo Pesa to earn 500m/- in prize money through end of year campaign

IN an exciting campaign to mark the end of year festive season, Tigo Pesa subscribers are set to share 500m/- in prize money with one of them taking home a 20m/- grand prize.

In a statement, Tigo Tanzania said the ‘Kishindo cha Funga Mwaka’ campaign which runs for a month through December will see first and second runners up take home 15m/- and 10m/- in cash prizes. All that the Tigo Pesa customers need to do is put money in their mobile phone accounts to stand a chance to win the numerous cash rewards.

“Customers should simply put or receive e-value (money) into their Tigo Pesa accounts through cash in from any Tigo Pesa agent, banks or other networks and they will automatically stand a chance to win,” said Tigo’s Head of Core Products for Mobile Financial Services, James Sumari.

He said there is no charge at all in putting or receiving money by customers through their Tigo Pesa account but that the principle is that the higher the value you put in the higher your chances of winning.

The month-long campaign, will also eight lucky winners get awarded 5m/- every week while another similar number pocket 1m/- each daily.

“We expect a total of 331 winners in the one-month duration of this campaign and the aim is to show gratitude to our customers for being with us throughout the year.

We are delighted to once again offer our Tigo customers these prizes, which will enable them to enjoy the festive season as well as begin the new year with a bang as they continue to benefit from our digital lifestyle services” added Sumari.

Tigo Pesa is the market’s second largest mobile service provider according to Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority with a network of over 150,000 agents and merchants countrywide.
