taking part in the Coke Studio Africa show which is expected to be aired by television stations early in September.
Mkono, alias Nahreel, has produced several hit songs for various artistes in Tanzania. He is also an artiste with a Bongo Flava music group, NEVY KENZO.
Nahreel said the Coke Studio Africa show has successfully promoted Bongo Flava in Africa for four seasons.
He disclosed that the show’s participants have won more fans and have learnt a lot about music from their fellow African artistes and American musicians.
Some of the producers that are working with Nahreel in the Coke Studio Africa show are South Africa’s Yuvir Nivedan a.k.a Sketchy Bongo, and Kiff No Beat from Cote d’ Ivoire.
Disco Jockeys (DJs) that are participating in the show are Tafinha (Angola), Laura Beg (Mauritius), Jah Prayzah and Slapdee (Central Africa Republic), Bisa Kdei and Worlasi from Ghana, Betty G (Ethiopia), Bruce Melodie, Shellsy Baronet and Mr. Bow (Mozambique), Denise (Madagascar), Ozane (Togo) and Freeda from Namibia.
This season’s Coke Studio Africa show, as disclosed by Coca-Cola company, will have plenty of entertaining songs, as the event has involved 16 artistes from across the continent.
The show will be aired by over 30 television stations across the continent.
Artistes that are taking part in this season’s show are from South Africa, Rwanda, Angola, Zimbabwe, Togo, Madagascar, Mauritius, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Cameroon.
The previous edition of the show featured Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, Ghana, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Cote d’ Ivoireand Togo.
Tanzania artistes that are taking part in this season’s show are Rayvanny, Izzo Bizness, Ali Kibaand Nandy.
The country’s other renowned artistes, who took part in the previous editions, are Lady Jay Dee, Diamond Platinumz, Vanessa Mdee, John Makini,Shaa ,Ben Paul,Fid Q and Zanzibar Culture Music group.
