This was revealed here on Monday by Mbarali District TANESCO manager, Nicodemus Kapange who said they continue to mobilize people to avoid masquerading people acting TANESCO staff who go round wooing them to be connected to power at great cost
He said the indicative connection fee was only 27,000/- per household and it takes only 30 days for a house to be connected after payment.
He advised people to pay the connection fees at TANESCO offices and not handing the money to any Tanesco staff in the streets.
He said so far they have changed 232 power poles of 12 metres each at the main 234km transmission line to ensure power cuts in the district becomes history.
Mbarali District Commissioner Reuben Mfune called on Tanesco Manager to continue improving power infrastructures to minimize power outages.
Meanwhile DC Mfune said the government has provided 500m/- for the construction of three wards at Mbarali District Hospital.
He said the construction of the wards will reduce the challenges from the shortage of wards for patients at the hospital and assured people better medical services.
Mbarali District Medical Officer Dr. Godfrey Mwakalila stressed that people to take precautions against the Covid-19 infections, calling on them to abide by all health guidelines, including the wearing of masks, avoid unnecessary assemblies and to do frequent exercises.
