Speaking on Tuesday at a campaign rally in Missenyi, the Prime Minister, Kassim Majaliwa mentioned the villages still to be connected with power as Buchurago, Katano, Kakunyu and Bugango.
In regard to the livestock sector mentioned in the 2020/25 CCM election manifesto Majaliwa said CCM government has managed well the sector.
“23m/- has been spent to revamp the Bunanzi abattoir here in Missenyi, we have also simplified the sale of livestock products by abolishing 114 nuisance levies in the agricultural, livestock and fishing sectors through the establishment of livestock processing factories,” he said.
He said the government also spent 1.8bn/- for construction of various health centres in Karagwe District now 98 per cent complete.
Whilst in Karagwe District Majaliwa also used the rally to seek votes to the party’s presidential candidate John Magufuli, as well as for the constituency’s parliamentary candidate, Innocent Bashungwa as well as for council candidates.
Majaliwa said 1.4bn/- has been provided through TARURA for construction of new roads, repair to old ones, adding that out of the amount 585m/- was for repairing road sections.
He said the government also plans to establish modern research centres for livestock diseases in 18 regions that do not have such centres, to improve veterinary services and to ensure every district had a laboratory, clinic and a veterinary officer.
