Manyara Police Commander Benjamin Kuzaga confirmed the arrest and stated that the means of escape used by the suspect is to run away with the girl to his room, force her to sleep with him and thereafter live with her forcefully.
Commander Kuzaga said the suspect was successfully arrested thanks to the citizens cooperation with the department of investigation.
On the other hand, the girl’s father, Lembris Salonic, a resident of Loswaki village has also been placed under police custody for allowing her daughter to get married.
Commander Kuzaga has appealed to the citizens to work with the police force to give information that will help combat gender violence against children which hampers a child’s development and the community in general.
