After thanking the voters he went on to articulate that this is his final term and he will deliver on his election promises.
The president also called on all his party members and elect leaders from all parties to now work to deliver on their election promises.
“I would like to say this win is not only mine or for my party alone, it is victory for all Tanzanians,” he said.
The president further thanked his election contestants whom he said have showed great political maturity.
“I thank the contestants for participating in the election and for accepting the outcome and coming to join these celebrations…this is a sign that you have political maturity,” he said.
The president congratulated the country’s security organs for maintaining peace during the election process and said “…it is my hope that you will continue the good work even after the elections,” he urged.
“Leaving aside the few issues that occurred, we voted in peace and we have received the election results in peace, these elections have shown the world not only do we love peace but we are also politically mature,” said the president elect.
Closing his acceptance speech, the president elect said “Politics is not war, politics is not a fight…I pledge to work with you…Progress has no party, Tanzania first, the rest later,” said the president.
