Ruvuma Regional Police Commander (RPC) Simon Maigwa said that the incident occurred on March 29, this year around 7am at the businessman’s home located in Mpambalyoto in Songea town.
Commander Maigwa however told The Guardian yesterday that the reasons were yet to be established. However, investigations were on going.
He said that the deceased who was also working as a contractor shot himself by using his own pistol.
“It was found that during the day of the incident, Rwendera’s housekeeper identified as Amida Mnali (47), a resident of Bombambili in Songea found her boss laying and a lot of blood on floor, she then informed relatives and the police,” he said.
It was claimed that that on March 28, this year Rwendera came back home drunk and found his relative who works on his graden at home. The family member named Raurian Bathromeo (43) escorted his uncle in the house and served him food.
It was further claimed that after eating, Rwendera went to look for his cattle near his house.
Commander Maigwa said that after arriving at the scene , the police found a pistol with seven bullets..
He said that no one has been arrested over the incident but Police are now holding the pistol for further investigations.
