The colourful event was hosted by Onomo hotel in Dar es Salaam Tanzania. Guest of honour at the event was the Director General of TanTrade and elected Ambassador Hon Edwin N. Rutageruka.
Speaking at the launch, ambassodor Rutageruka commended the event as a key business development initiative.
"These awards are unique, they encourage competition and standards of service delivery," he said.
"By empowering the consumer to vote for the company that best delivers on their production promise, these awards encourage companies to honour their service and product delivery," he added.
The awards are uniquely designed to give the consumer, the end user, the power to vote for the company that they feel best delivers utility.
Commenting on the integrity of the voting process, Price and Cooper (PCW) Associate Executive Ms. Delvina Libent said the voting process is assured by a stringent auditing process.
"Our job is to ensure that the voting process is not compromised and the results are ligitimate and trust worthy," she said.
On her part, Founder and CEO of the Consumer Choice Awards Ms. Diana Simon Laizer said it is an honour to give Tanzanian consumer the power to select which company best delivers service.
"We are mostly grateful to the government under President Samia Suluhu for supporting this initiative, through Tantrade, the government has backed our efforts for two years and in this third year we are anticipating high level of participation to vote for companies that best delivery their services," she said.
The TCCA is the first event in the country that includes participants from across the continet and beyond to vote for companies that they feel delivers utility.
Consumers can participate by voting on the TCCA platform Www.ccawardsafrica.co.tz By voting, consumers encourage quality and standard delivery by producers and distributors.
Winners of the competition will be announced in December 5th at a grand event to be held in Dar es Salaam.
Among the attendants was CEO & Founder of Intercapital Limited, Investment Banker and Financial Consultant Anthony Chamugwana who is also chair of CCAA. As well as Head of marketing and corporate Affairs (Absa bank Tanzania) Mr. Aron Luhanga to mention but a few.
