After being declared the winner of Nkasi North constituency, Chadema's Aida Khenani thanked God for the victory but described her win as an 'unhappy victory'.
Commenting on her Twitter handle, Honourable Khenani said democracy is more important than her victory and that she is ready to follow any decision that her party make.
The MP elect stands aloone on Chadema's vacant victory platform after all her fellow candidates including party leaders lost the positions they were running for or defending.
This means that Khenani will be the only Chadema MP in the August House when parliament next convenes.
Khenani emerged winner after getting 21,226 votes and defeating Ally Keissy of CCM who got 19,972 votes.
She is not alone in the lonesomoe predicament, opposition party CUF has also suffered the same tragedy after securing just one seat in parliament.
In Mtwara Rural constituency, CUF's Shamsia Mtamba won the parliamentary seat with 26,262 votes, defeating the constituency's incumbent CCM MP Hawa Ghasia who got 18,505 votes.
