Earlier, construction work was set to be completed this month but the contractor Mohammed Builders Ltd was given more time until February next year.
Speaking to reporters here yesterday an official from the company Nassiri Nassor said the work is more than 80 percent completed hence it will be fully completed by February 2020.
“This is a huge project as it will be accessible by up to 30 lorries at a time to load and offload goods including parking area for over 300 vehicles,” he said, adding that the lorries will have their own entry points, they will not mix with other vehicles.
He said the market is a modern one due to high quality road infrastructures that will ensure very little congestion.
He said there will be a special section for small entrepreneurs that will cater for all business sectors, and added that the aim of his company is to complete all work by February next year.
The company’s director Mohammed Jafrej said the project, after completion will cost 14.1bn/-, and it has given employment to more than 200 people of various skills including drivers, masons, electricians and others.
