The prizes were awarded yesterday at the "Shinda Mtaji promotion which was launched in November this year aiming to promote traders using the Masterpass QR services to simply payings.
Selcom's Marketing Manager, Juma Mgori, said the promotion enables a businessman to win Sh 1 million every week for three months from November to January 2019.
He named the winners of promotion are Boaz Wales, Hamisi Kilenga from Dar es Salaam and businessman from Arusha.
Mngori said any businessman will join Masterpass QR and start receiving customers would go straight into the weekly draw and gain a chance to win it so that he can increass business capital.
"Masterpass QR is a service that enables the customer to make payment of different products and services from a mobile account or bank account by entering a Pay Number of a trademark or QR code existing in the business premises using the Smartphone.
"Through the Masterpass QR service, the customer will be able to make payments via telecom networks from Tigo Pesa, M-Pesa, Airtel Money, Halopesa, Ezypesa and Selcom Card.
In addition, those who use mobile banking, they will be able to make payments from Access Bank, I & M Bank, the NBC Bank, the Banking Savings Bank, the Banking Bank, the Banking Bank, the Banking Bank, the Exim Bank, the TPB Bank, the NMB Bank, the FINCA Microfinance Bank and the Standard. Chartered Bank.
"Clients of those banks will also be able to download the Masterpass Tanzania App via Smartphone and register to make a payment to the Masterpass QR directly from their bank accounts," he said.
He added that for a businessman to be registered with the Masterpass QR service, he has to visit Selcom offices for registration, with required a business license, TIN document and its identification and will take two to three days process for Masterpass QR to be active, "he said.
One of the winners Boaz Walesi said the Masterpass QR's service has enabled him to avoid dangers of carrying cash or bank card any time they need to make a payment.
"It also eliminate discomfort and cost as well as bringing money safety to traders who were staying with a lot cash in their business places areas," he said.
Hamisi Kitenga said that when a businessman joins the service, the sales day will be sent to his bank account or phone the same day after the work day ends.
