Tanzania Volleyball Association (TAVA)’s chairman Augustine Agapa, whose association has organised the tournament, said the regions include Tanga, Mbeya, Morogoro, Dodoma, Shinyanga, Arusha, Kilimanjaro, Tabora, Mtwara, Lindi, Manyara, Geita, Iringa and hosts Dar es Salaam.
Agapa said the regions will field teams in men and women categories, noting he is optimistic over the tournament will turn out to be competitive.
He said TAVA targets to see to it that all of the regions are taking part in the tournament, given that the move will present the association with a wide pool of players for the national team selection.
"We request all regions to take part in the tourney, we will use the event to select players for the national beach volleyball team," Agapa said.
He said TAVA has planned to improve the organisation of the tournament, given that the event has been postponed on several occasions in the past in a bid to ensure it is properly organised.
The tournament had earlier been slated to take place in April this year but it was then pushed back to next month.
