The sports gear worth 200m/- were handed over to representatives of participating regions for both regional and national level tournaments include; jerseys, shin guards, socks, referee jerseys, balls and gloves.
Speaking during handing over function, secretary general of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Celestine Mwesigwa said; “By supplying you with the sports kit, the sponsor has fulfilled one of noble commitments and I expect you to go back to your respective regions and work hard to explore football talents”.
“We are looking forward to competitive and exciting matches and I appeal to regional football authorities to be keen in selecting players who will form regional combine teams for the national finals scheduled to be held in Dar es Salaam from September 6”.
On his part, Airtel Tanzania public relations manager, Jackson Mmbando said “The tournament constitutes part of the ongoing Airtel FURSA campaign launched last year with the aim to empower the youth by providing them with various opportunities.
This year’s tournament is yet another opportunity for the youth, boys and girls, to realise their potential with the aim to succeed in life through football. In this case our firm is using this program as a platform to ultimately empower and transform the lives of the youth who are passionate about football,”
The football program is an initiative designed for the entire African continent which is aimed to provide a platform for upcoming soccer talent to showcase their skills to leading scouts, coaches and have an opportunity to further their football skills.
