Azam crash out of CAF League

AZAM FC crashed out of this year’s edition of CAF Confederation Cup League after conceding three goals in a return leg played in Mbabane yesterday.

The teams battled to barren draw up to the end of the opening half with Azam in advantage courtesy of their first leg 1-0 result.

However, Azam collapsed in the second half to concede three goals making the aggregate to become 3-1 as the ice-cream makers saw the exit door.

The match in Mababane was preceded by riots with Mbabane Swallows’ fans in frenzy of intimidation. Azam have been winning CAF league’s matches at home but have always been eliminated in return legs.

In related development Mainland champions Young Africans have also been eliminated from the CAF Champions League after a barrren draw with Zambia’s Zanaco FC. Yanga now will join fray in CAFConfederation Cup playoff s.
