Azam FC and Biashara United, on Sunday, progressed to the preliminary round's second round after seeing off their opponents, Horseed FC of Somalia, and Dikhil FC of Djibouti, respectively in the first round in Dar es Salaam.

Horseed FC conceded 1-0 to Azam FC in the first round's return leg at Azam Complex to crash out for 4-1 aggregate loss.

The visitors suffered a 3-1 loss to their opponents in the first leg, which took place at the venue.

Biashara United notched a 2-0 win over Dikhil FC at the venue to make it to the following round with a 3-0 aggregate victory.

The Tanzanian outfit edged the Djibouti club 1-0 in the first clash in Djibouti.

In a monitored post-match interview, Biashara United head coach, Patrick Odhiambo, said they need to prepare well.

The club is set to face aggregate winners of the preliminary round clash between Hay Alwady Nyala of Sudan and Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya.

The coach disclosed: "For today, it is over, but we still have a long way to go, we need to prepare well, the coming games are expected to be tough but with good preparations, we can progress to the next stage.''

The Kenyan tactician also disclosed that he will meet the club management to strategize for the coming CAF Confederation Cup games.

"Everyone knows that we faced some challenges in our first away game, so we have to meet and prepare well for our coming games, we do not want a repetition of what happened in our first game, but all in all credit should go to my players that put a brave fight," he said.

The Mara-based side progressed to the preliminary round's second round on a 3-0 aggregate.

Sunday match's goals were scored by midfielder Ramadhan Chombo in the 19th and 23rd minutes of the first half.

Azam FC assistant coach Vivier Bahati said they need to prepare well for their next round's tie against Pyramids FC of Egypt.

He said the focus now is on the game against the Egyptian football giants.

''We are through to the next round, but we need to prepare well for our next game, we need to prepare well if we go for good preparations we can beat Pyramids FC,'' he said.

Azam FC knocked Horseed FC out with a 4-1 aggregate victory.

Azam FC's attacking midfielder, Ismail Aziz, notched the goal which made certain of their progression to the second round in the Saturday duel.
