Coastal Union in turbulent season

COASTAL Union is obviously heading to the relegation after poor display to allow two goals when they hosted visiting Simba at their Mkwakwani Stadium base in Tanga last Saturday.

Unless the team embarks on extraordinary resurgence, the Tanga side might not be in the top flight for the next premiership season.

The once feared and ‘giant killers’ side is now highly troubled even after changing coach at the mid of the season. Jackson Mayanja who used to coach the team is the one who caused them all the troubles when he led Simba to a 2-0 goals victory last Saturday.

New coach Ali Jangalu seems to have lost all ideas on how best to lift the spirit of the team that has seen notching upsets against Yanga and Azam, the two hottest premiership title contenders.

With six matches to wind up the premiership season, Coastal Union has just 19 points and well established at the base of the standings table.

It is not known whether owners and members of the club are willing to accept this dreadful situation which might prove costly in case the team sinks into the relegation tunnel.
