Dar artists land lucrative deal

Eight artists signed a two year contract with mobile telephone service provider Vodacom Tanzania to promote their works yesterday.

The firm’s public relations officer Martina Nkulu said under the contract named ‘Artist News Alert’, the artists will be able to promote their works and informing the public on their new developments.

He named the artists as Ally Kiba, Zuwena Mohamed ‘Shilole’, Aunt Ezekiel, Kajala Masanja, Jacqueline Wolper, Wema Sepetu, Judith Wambura ‘Lady Jay Dee’ and Rose Ndauka.Nkulu said this will also help the artists to earn widen revenue collection base.

“This service is about connecting our customers to their favourite celebrities ,it is one of the many initiatives of applying technology to make life better and easier for our customers while giving them the luxury of receiving updates on their favourite local artists”, he said.

He said the company has partnered with Global Publishers to make this deal a success.
The firm’s general manager Abdallah Mrisho said they are looking forward to use the platform and give people recent updates of their artists.
