Dar company boosts Diplomatic Charity golf tourney

DAR ES SALAAM company, Insignia Limited, through its Galaxy Paints product, yesterday made its plan to actively boost efforts to promote golf domestically, handing over a dummy cheque of 14.5m/- to support the forthcoming Diplomatic Charity golf tournament slated for later this month in USA River.

The organizers of the annual event, Songea Mississippi Foundation, have had a series of functions for announcing event sponsors. 

They recently also announced Fly Dubai agency as part and parcel of it.

The event coordinator, Reinafrida Rwezaura, said yesterday preparations for the competition are in full swing, thanking their new sponsors, Galaxy Paints, for coming on board.

"We thank you for supporting us as we are heading to the event," the coordinator noted.

She said that the proceedings of the two-day event will go to vulnerable orphanage centers in Songea.

The event will take place at Kilimanjaro Golf Wildlife Estate (Kili Golf) course at USA River in Arusha from September 24-25.

Reinafrida: “We thank you very much for the donation and for coming on board to join other sponsors for the much-anticipated event.”

She called upon other firms to show up and support the event that attracts diplomatic golf players to battle it out the charity event aimed at helping vulnerable children in Songea.

Insignia Limited's Marketing Manager, Adam Kefa, said that his firm is obliged to support the needy community as part of its agenda.

He had also promised continued support, looking for a long partnership with the tournament organizers.

"Apart from doing business, we also give back to the community," the official stated.

"We, therefore feel happy to do this through the golfing community,'' Kefa disclosed. 

Apart from helping the needy community, the event is also aimed at promoting the sport as well as fostering relationships among diplomatic golf players in the country.

More than 150 participants from different countries, among others, are expected to battle it out in the 18-hole event. 

Other event sponsors include Insignia Limited, Gran Melia, CRDB Bank Plc, Jibu Water, and Lemala.
