Jima issued the comments after the DTB Bank team cruised to 76-56 victory against Ukonga Warriors to record a third consecutive victory in the ongoing league.

Before beating Ukonga Warriors, the DTB Bank squad recorded 63-43 victory against Oilers in the opening match and later won 60-43 against a famous team, Vijana Basketball Club 'City Bulls'.

The DTB squad is now placed fourth in the showdown's standing with six points from three matches the team has taken part in.

Vijana outfit is placed at the top with nine points from five matches, followed by Kurasini Heat with eight points from five matches, and Savio in the third spot with seven points from four matches.

Jima explained that they have chances to top the league standings if they will play the next two matches in Eastern Conference.

“In the last season, we did not reach the final, but the current standing in the new playing format, we need to stretch our muscles to do well and clinch the title,” the tactician noted.

DTB Bank squad will play its fourth game on Saturday against Savio. The encounter will take place at Upanga’s Don Bosco court. The team will also face Kurasini Heat on Sunday at the Harbours court.

Meanwhile, Englebert Machumu of the DTB Bank squad was the top scorer for the team in the encounter against Ukonga Warriors after scoring 21 points.

Apart from Machumu, the team’s famous player, Alex Mbwana, scored 12 points and Cornelius Peter added 11 points respectively.

Jima disclosed: “My players did well in the encounter and managed to overshadow Ukonga Warriors counterparts in the encounter.''

''It was not an easy match as our opponents started with a quick pace and led in the first quarter. We had to change the pattern of the game and manage to equalize and later took command of the game. Thanks to my players for the best commitment,” he said.
