Drama unfolds at Kigali airport as Yanga arrive

MAINLAND Champions Young Africans have arrived safely in Rwandan capital Kigali ahead of their CAF Champions League first leg encounter with hosts APR to be played at the Amahoro Stadium tomorrow.

However, their arrival was not without a drama as Yanga officials rejected to allow their players to board a new bus allocated to transfer the team to their reserved hotel.

Only officials and members of the technical staff use d the bus as the rest of the players boarded another bus.

It was not immediately known as to why Yanga officials made such a decision but it’s believed that was a way to avoid an alleged ‘sabotage’. Team manager Hafidh Saleh joined his players in a separate bus for transfer to their hotel.

Tanzania High Commissioner to Rwanda Ambassador Ally Iddi Siwa was one of the Tanzanians who welcomed Yanga team upon arrival at the airport during midday yesterday.

Yanga players were supposed to attend an evening training session at a venue close to Amahoro where the encounter will be held.

Yanga and APR meet at the Amahoro Stadium tomorrow before the team clash again in Dar es Salaam a fortnight later.
