Goal aggregate buoys Yanga to podium finish

SUPERIOR goal difference is another factor besides points that would propel Mainland soccer title holders Young Africans to clutch firmly on their title retention bid this season.

Despite opening a massive gap of points ahead of two other title contenders, Simba and Azam, Yanga’s goal aggregate is sufficient arsenal to keep the rest at bay as the season comes close to an end within three weeks time.

With staggering 68 points to their collection kit, the holders will not be shaken by late charge of the two other contenders even if they drop a couple of points in the three matches left on the fixture.

Yanga just need to win one game of the three remaining to stay assured of winning the title basing on the ceiling of points.

The Jangwani side has a possibility of attaining a ceiling of 77 points should they post victories in the three fixtures on the schedule.

Archrivals Simba who have 58 points and ten adrift of Yanga, are almost rank outsider when it comes to close the gap, unless Yanga flop terribly in the three matches.

Another victory for Yanga would certainly throw archrivals Simba completely out of the title track chase as the Msimbazi Street boys have a ceiling of attaining 70 points, just two below Yanga’s current tally.

A 71-point mark is a possibility for Yanga in case they win their subsequent match that would certainly drive out both Simba and Azam as far as premiership business is concerned for this season.

It is unlikely that Azam can pump in over 21 goals in four matches to edge out Yanga after points tally should that happen.

Yanga Burundian striker Amis Tambwe who is leading the pack of premiership strikers, has contributed almost one third of the team’s goals to stay on contention for the golden boot award chase.
