The festival is organized by the Tanzania Higher Learning Institutions Students’ Organization (TAHLISO) aimingg at bringing university students together.
Speaking to reporters yesterday, TAHLISO vice chairman, Hijja Milambo, said that prominent new genre singers, Esterlina Sanga 'Linah', 'Young Lunya', and Abdallah Ahmed 'Dullah Makabila', will as well perform in the festival.
'Linah' is a prominent female Bongo Flava singer, 'Young Lunya' is a fast rising Hip Hop artist, and 'Dullah Makabila' is holding sway in 'Singeli'.
"There will be a variety of activities at the festival, students will have the opportunity to meet and exchange ideas, there will also be leaders and celebrities," Milambo stated.
He said the festival, despite being organized for students, is open to other people.
Milambo stressed that entertainment lovers are free to turn up and get entertainment from the mentioned musicians.
"The mentioned musicians are some of artists for the festival, there are many others who will take the stage to entertain students who will be participating in this festival."
"We have set an entrance fee of 10,000/-, prioritising students," Milambo revealed.
The TAHLISO Sports and Entertainment Commissioner, Muba Abdul, said the festival would also be used to welcome first-year students to various colleges.
He also said that from now on they have banned institutions from organizing a student festival without permission from TAHLISO.
