The thrilling encounter saw the winners draw first blood through Mwanahamis Omar after 26 minutes. The teams progressed into the dressing rooms with the winners enjoying the seemingly slim but crucial lead.

The Mainland team intensified efforts to extend the margin as the second half kicked off to give Kenyans heartbreaking moment. It was Stumai Abdallah who frustrated the losers.

Complacency by the winners opened the room for the losers to pull back one as a consolation through Christine Wafula. However, the Queens battled gallantly to fill all the gaps as they cruised to 2-1 win and jubilantly grab the silverware.

Queens handed the tournament hosts Uganda a comprehensive 4-0 thrash during the semi-final match played at the same venue on Sunday.

Kenya had the better of Ethiopia by 3-2 goals to book the final date with eventual winners, Queens. The Queens were under skipper Sophia Mwasikili and coach Sebastian Mkoma.
