Maguri trails golden boot award contenders

THE man who set up an impressive chase to the golden boot award quest, Elias Maguri, is now trailing by hefty six goals as not more than ten rounds are left to wind up the season.

Maguri was leading the pack of the Mainland premiership soccer players at the beginning of the season, paid price for late reporting as his coach would not let him go with it.

He has been dumped to rot on the bench for several matches as challengers Amisi Tambwe and Hamis Kiiza have capitalised on his inactivity.

Maguri who recently started to win first choice selection into the team has managed to attain ten goals into his tally kit.

Kiiza has scored 16 goals to open a single-goal lead over Young Africans’ Burundian striker Tambwe.

The chase towards the award is likely to be changes this weekend when the premiership resumes at various venues across Mainland Tanzania.
