Mainland league tallies 150 goals from 88 ties

A TOTAL of 150 goals have been scored from 88 matches until the Mainland Premier League paused early this week.

The 16-team league has stopped in the 11th round to allow the Mainland national team (Kilimanjaro Stars) compete in the Senior Challenge Cup starting tomorrow in nairobi.

Simba lead the league with 23 points fol- lowed by azam FC who tie with them on points but the Msimbazi Street side lead by the goal difference rule.

Simba have scored 24 goals while azam FC have seven. Simba have scored more goals than any other team while Mbeya City lead in allowing many goals in the back of their nets, with 16 goals.

Mbeya City and Stand United lead in losing games, having lost six each.

Simba, Yanga and azam FC are yet to lose a match. Simba Ugandan striker Emmanuel Okwi leads the scoring board with eight goals followed by Mohamed Rashid of Prisons and Obrey Chirwa of Yanga who have six goals each.

Players with five goals each are ibrahim aji- bu (Yanga), Shiza Kichuya (Simba), Habib Haji (Mbao FC) and asante Kwasi (Lipuli FC).
