Head coach Mwinyi Zahera said the Congolese forward was injured yesterday during team training, and that physician Dr Edward Bavu was making efforts to get him back to shape.
His absence may hit Yanga as the side will again miss strikers Ibrahim Ajib and Mrisho Ngassa who are out of today’s game as they hold yellow cards.
Ajib got the second yellow card when they played Tanzania Prisons while Ngasa was red carded in the game when he butted Laurian Mpalile in the match played at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
“Ajib and Ngasa will not be in my squad because of the cards while the fate of Makambo is yet to be known as his presence in the game will depend on the decision of the physician,” the coach said.
The Congolese tactician said that defenders Gardiel Michael and Kelvin Yondani who of late have not been in his squad had returned in the team together with Congolese midfielder Papy Tshishimbi.
Yanga will return into the pilot seat if they win today after Azam FC had dethroned them on Friday following their win against Mbao FC.
Azam FC lead the 20-team league with 39 points followed by Yanga with 28 points. Defending champions Simba are placed third with 27 points.
