SOUTHERN Highland’s top flight side of Mbeya City FC, is on the verge of signing on loan two Malawian players, it has been confirmed.

The two Nyasa Big Bullets’ regular defender Sankhani Mkandawire and goalkeeper Owen Chaima are reported to be with the team in Matema Beach where the team has camped ahead of the Mainland premier league. Mbeya City are negotiating a loan move from the Malawi side.

Mbeya City With Malawian coach Kinnah Phiri at their midst, he yesterday confirmed to have invited the players to discuss terms so that his side can recruit them on loan.

”It's not that we have signed them, the two are currently having personal negotiations with the club management, once they reach an agreement our club will open discussions with Big Bullets.Mkandawire and Chaima are Malawi national team players.

Commenting on the ongoing preparations, Phiri said his players are doing well and he hopes the team will perform well next season which is expected to kickoff on August 20.

“To be honest my players are doing well and with good response to the instructions, I can assure you that my team will perform well in the coming season”, he said.

The coach also said the arrival of Omary Ramadhani who last season played for African Sports has boosted his striking force which last season banked on Geoffrey Mlawa.

He said his team will play friendly match against Mtibwa Sugar in Morogoro tomorrow.
